Mokpo Harbor Festival

*The following information on festival food is from the previous year’s (2025) festival; details for the 2026 festival are currently being updated.* The 2026 Mokpo Harbor Festival will be held for three days, from October 16 to 18, in the Mokpo Harbor and Samhakdo Island areas. Centered around the “Traditional Fish Market,” which vividly recreates the joy of a full catch and the lively seafood auction, and the “Modern Fish Market,” where visitors can experience the shops, streets, and daily life of a modern wharf, visitors can enjoy the history and culture of Mokpo Port as if traveling back in time. Content unique to Mokpo—such as “Fish Market: Full Catch!” (a reenactment of a gillnet fishing boat’s arrival), an exciting fish market auction show, a retro wharf street, and a traditional fish market—will be featured throughout the festival grounds. Combined with culinary programs featuring Mokpo’s seasonal seafood, family-friendly participatory activities, and a variety of performances, the festival offers a unique experience that brings the port of the past to life in today’s celebration.
