About
*The following information about festival food is from the previous year’s (2025) festival; details for the 2026 festival are currently being updated.* The Gimhae Buncheong Ceramics Festival is a ceramics culture festival held in Gimhae, a major production center for Buncheong ware during the early Joseon Dynasty. It is Gimhae’s flagship festival, dedicated to preserving the value of traditional ceramics culture and presenting it through modern reinterpretations. Celebrating its 31st anniversary this year, the Gimhae Buncheong Ceramics Festival features a variety of programs—including exhibitions and sales of works, hands-on pottery-making workshops, and pottery demonstrations—that allow visitors to experience the unique beauty and artistry of Gimhae Buncheong ceramics up close. In particular, visitors can admire the distinctive works of local ceramic artists all in one place and easily and enjoyably experience the charm of Buncheong ware through hands-on programs where they can touch the clay and create their own pieces. Furthermore, as a participatory arts and culture festival, it offers programs—including hands-on activities, performances, and events—for children and families, ensuring that people of all ages can enjoy the festival together and helping to integrate traditional ceramic culture into everyday life.
