A Fortress City in the Forest—Namhansanseong Autumn Festival

The 2026 “Fortress City in the Forest—Namhansanseong Autumn Festa” program is a series of hands-on activities designed to allow citizens to experience the value of this World Heritage Site together, taking place throughout the Namhansanseong area. Visitors can reflect on the historical significance and beauty of Namhansanseong Fortress at various locations throughout the fortress, where a variety of programs—including hands-on activities, performances, and tours—will be offered. The festival consists of four programs: the “Traditional Culture Experience,” where participants engage with the fortress’s history and traditions through hands-on activities; the “Eco-History Camp,” where visitors learn about the fortress’s ecology through guided tours and nature-based activities; the “Namhansanseong Performance Festival,” which adds to the festive atmosphere with theater and traditional Korean music performances, and the “Chuseok Special Program,” which illuminates Namhansanseong Fortress with lights and music during the Chuseok holiday—these four programs make up the lineup. Visitors can experience the value and charm of the World Heritage Site Namhansanseong Fortress up close.
