About
The 2026 Namdo K-Garden Festival is a nighttime garden festival held in the area around Yeomun Culture Street and Yeoseomi Tourist Plaza in Yeosu City. The festival’s theme is “Yeosu Night Garden Embracing the Islands,” and it will run for a total of 51 days, from September 11 to October 31, 2026. The festival aims to utilize the spatial characteristics of the historic downtown area through content that integrates gardens with nighttime scenery, while providing citizens and tourists with opportunities to enjoy garden culture. Approximately 40 gardens—including signature gardens, artist-designed gardens, and citizen-participation gardens—will be created at the venue, which will be open to visitors both day and night, featuring a variety of plants and landscape designs. At night, lighting effects will be used to highlight the gardens’ scenery and create a viewing experience linked to Yeosu’s nighttime tourist attractions. Throughout the event, a variety of activities will be offered, including guided garden tours, cultural performances, hands-on experiences, and citizen participation programs, along with initiatives tied to local commercial districts and tourist attractions. The 2026 Namdo K-Garden Festival is an event designed to promote garden culture, revitalize the historic downtown area, and establish Yeosu as a “City of Gardens.” Its goal is to promote the sustainable spread of garden culture by utilizing the region’s cultural and tourism resources through a garden festival where citizens and tourists can participate and enjoy together.
