Chiaksan Hanwoo Festival

The Chiaksan Hanwoo Festival, organized by the Wonju Livestock Agricultural Cooperative, is the region’s premier festival. Rooted in Wonju’s agricultural heritage and the “Samto” philosophy, it is a celebration of unity where people of all ages—men, women, and children—can participate together. The festival promotes the excellence of premium Chiaksan Hanwoo beef, raised in pristine natural surroundings. Visitors can experience local agricultural and livestock products, participate in various food-related activities, and purchase fresh produce directly. Hands-on programs tailored for families are also available. In addition, the festival offers a rich array of attractions, including Chiaksan Hanwoo tasting and discounted sales, as well as stage events featuring local artistic performances. The 12th Chiaksan Hanwoo Festival is a celebration held in Wonju—the heart of the Samto Philosophy—together with the city’s residents.
