Hwasun Dolmen, a World Cultural Heritage Site: Autumn Flower Festival

The Hwasun Dolmen World Heritage Autumn Flower Festival is Hwasun’s premier fall festival, which began in 2013 as the “Chrysanthemum Festival in the City” and evolved from the chrysanthemum festival previously held at Namsan Park, relocating it to the Hwasun Dolmen Site. The World Heritage-listed dolmens blend with a vibrant array of autumn flowers—arranged around a new theme each year—to create a beautiful autumn landscape. Visitors can enjoy a wealth of sights and activities, including family-friendly hands-on programs that bring the history and culture of the dolmens and the Bronze Age to life, as well as diverse exhibitions and performances. In particular, the “DM Concert”—Hwasun’s signature performance, whose name incorporates the “DM” from “DolMen” (dolmen)—adds to the festival’s enjoyment, presenting a special event where visitors can experience both the value of the World Heritage Site and the beauty of autumn flowers.
