Hwasun Jikbyeok Cultural Festival

The Hwasun Jikbyeok Cultural Festival is a local cultural festival held at Hwasun Jikbyeok and the Iseo Community Center in Iseo-myeon, Hwasun County, within the Gwangju-Hwasun Integrated Special City of South Jeolla Province. The festival aims to provide local residents and tourists with a variety of experiences and attractions by showcasing the natural scenery and historical and cultural value of Hwasun Jikbyeok. Key programs include the Red Cliffs Walking Tour, where participants can explore the Hwasun Red Cliffs on foot; the GEO Environmental Concert, which raises awareness of the importance of the environment; Red Cliffs Wellness Time, designed for physical and mental healing; hands-on programs organized in collaboration with local public institutions and organizations; and a market selling Hwasun’s specialty products. In addition, the festival will feature an exhibition and awards ceremony for the winning entries of the Jeok Youth Writing Contest, as well as resident-participation programs (such as those organized by the Iseo Women’s Association and the Living Improvement Association). Free shuttle buses will operate during the festival, and the event is expected to attract approximately 5,000 guests, local residents, and tourists.
