About
The Jeonju International Picture Book Festival (JIPF) is South Korea’s premier picture book cultural festival, connecting with the world through picture books—a medium that has emerged as a global form of content. Held annually, this special festival offers visitors the opportunity to view original artwork by renowned domestic and international authors up close. In addition to featuring Korean picture book authors, the festival invites a guest of honor each year to showcase the creative world of a world-renowned picture book author representing that country. This 5th edition of the fair will feature Taiwanese author Jimmy Liao and South Korean author Kim Dong-sung, and will take place from Friday, October 2, 2026, to Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Korea National Center for Traditional Arts Exhibition Hall under the theme “Picturing the Memories.” During the festival, starting with the opening ceremony, there will be book exhibitions and lectures by domestic and international authors, a book market featuring participating publishers, and a “Rising Artists Exhibition” to nurture emerging local authors. In addition, a variety of book-themed performances, hands-on programs, and conferences will enrich the event. Following the festival, an exhibition of original picture book illustrations will continue through Sunday, October 25, 2026, keeping the festive spirit alive.
