Yeongdong Nangye Traditional Music Festival

*The following information about food at the festival is based on last year’s (2025) event; details for the 2026 festival are currently being updated.*This annual cultural and arts performance festival is held to honor the musical achievements of Master Nangye Park Yeon and to promote traditional culture and the arts, with a focus on traditional Korean music—a cultural heritage and traditional art form of Yeongdong County. The 57th Yeongdong Nangye Traditional Music Festival aims to build on the success of the 2025 Yeongdong World Traditional Music Expo to promote Korea’s heritage of traditional music worldwide and contribute to a second wave of the Korean Wave (Hallyu). Furthermore, as Korea’s only traditional Korean music festival, it strives to carry forward traditional culture and arts in a modern context through diverse performances and hands-on programs, while also working to leverage the festival as a local tourism resource through programs tailored to the region’s unique characteristics. It serves as a gathering place for community harmony through the enhancement of local residents’ cultural literacy and their voluntary participation.
