About

[Deoksugung Palace: Seokjojeon at Night] is a nighttime tour of Deoksugung Palace that consists of a “Seokjojeon Night Tour” led by a professional docent, a “Terrace Café Experience” where visitors can enjoy the coffee and desserts favored by Emperor Gojong while listening to classical music, and a musical performance that tells the story of the Korean Empire’s royal family. This night tour program at Deoksugung Palace began as a pilot project in 2021 and, thanks to high satisfaction ratings and a positive response, was officially launched in 2022; it has been held biannually since 2023. Guided by palace attendants, visitors embark on a special journey through time to Deoksugung Palace’s Seokjojeon Hall, which embodies the history of the Korean Empire’s royal family. This multifaceted cultural experience allows participants to create lasting memories of their night at Seokjojeon Hall through “perfect palace selfies” taken with props from the Enlightenment Period and commemorative souvenirs.
