About
The 2026 Hanbok Culture Week is a nationwide hanbok cultural event held annually during the third week of October, centered around Hanbok Day on October 21, to promote hanbok—which embodies our unique charm and traditions—and to spread the culture of wearing hanbok in everyday life. Marking its ninth anniversary this year, the 2026 Hanbok Culture Week will take place over seven days, from October 19 to 25, at approximately 410 venues nationwide, including the Open Plaza at the National Museum of Korea. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, managed by the Korea Craft & Design Foundation, and sponsored by the Arts Council Korea, the event features a variety of programs—including commemorative ceremonies, hanbok fashion shows, exhibitions, performances, hands-on experiences, and academic forums—that allow participants to experience the diverse charms of hanbok. Through programs linked with various participating venues across the country, the event provides the public with opportunities to see, wear, and enjoy hanbok as part of their daily lives. Furthermore, by hosting programs at domestic and international venues, it serves as a platform to ensure that hanbok—a traditional cultural heritage—continues to thrive as a contemporary cultural expression and fosters cultural exchange with the rest of the world.
