2026 Daegu Contemporary Art Festival Movement: Flow-Ringer-Flux

The Dalseong Daegu Contemporary Art Festival is a contemporary art festival held in the Gangjeongbo area, carrying on the spirit of the “Daegu Contemporary Art Festival” of the 1970s, when young artists challenged the rigidity of the established art world and engaged in various artistic experiments. Gangjeong, the venue for the Dalseong Daegu Contemporary Art Festival, holds historical significance as the site where Korea’s first collective art event took place in 1977 during the “3rd Daegu Contemporary Art Festival,” which featured the largest number of participating artists in the festival’s history—approximately 200.
