Hoengseong Hanwoo Festival

The 22nd Hoengseong Hanwoo Festival is one of South Korea’s premier staycation festivals, taking place over five days from October 7 to 11, 2026, in the Seomgang Riverbank area of Hoengseong County, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province. Under the slogan “Delicious, Stay, Shine” and the theme “An Autumn to Stay, Hoengseong: The City of Shining Flavors!,” the festival aims to promote the excellence and brand competitiveness of Hoengseong Hanwoo nationwide and revitalize the local economy. Aimed at promoting the excellence and brand competitiveness of Hoengseong Hanwoo nationwide and revitalizing the local economy, the festival is hosted and organized by the Hoengseong Culture and Tourism Foundation. The festival consists of 14 programs organized around three themes: food, culture and arts, and hands-on experiences. Operating as a “time-extended” festival that links daytime (10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.) and nighttime (6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.) programs to encourage longer stays, it is a mutually beneficial event in which local merchants, farmers, and residents all participate together.

Main Program - Woo-ahan Music Festa: Performances by popular singers and local arts groups, daily from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on the main stage - “U (Cow)” Fireworks Show: Large-scale multimedia fireworks performance, October 7 and 10 at 9:00 PM (2 shows) - Opening and Closing Ceremonies: October 7 (Opening), October 11 (Closing) 2. Side Events - Hoengseong Hanwoo BBQ Stands (3 locations): Operated by the Livestock Cooperative, Nonghyup, and the Hanwoo Cooperative; self-service style; open at all times - Hoengseong Hanwoo Sales Outlets (3 locations): Selling all cuts of Hanwoo beef, open daily - Hoengseong Matmadang Food Zone: Food booths operated by local merchants, open daily - Hoengseong Local Farm Market: Direct-sales market for local agricultural specialties operated by local farmers, open daily
