About
The Imsil N Cheese Festival is Korea’s premier cheese festival, commemorating the historical background and spirit of challenge behind the creation of Korea’s first cheese—which was born in 1967 when Father Jeong Jin-hwan, a Belgian missionary, started with just two goats and, after countless trials and tribulations, succeeded in producing the country’s first cheese. Through diverse hands-on experiences and tourism content centered on the theme of “Imsil N Cheese,” the festival offers special enjoyment to domestic and international visitors while elevating its status as Korea’s premier cheese brand. In particular, the festival features a wide variety of activities—including “Stretch and Share My Cheese,” a large-scale participatory experience where visitors stretch and share cheese together—as well as captivating exhibitions, exciting competitions, and gourmet programs that fill your mouth with happiness, allowing you to fully enjoy a festive atmosphere that delights all five senses. Furthermore, this cheese festival holds even deeper meaning and inspiration because it goes beyond simply welcoming tourists; it is a festival of mutual growth, created with one heart by local residents who take the lead.
