About
The 47th Soyanggang Cultural Festival is a local cultural festival held to uncover and preserve Chuncheon’s unique regional culture and to provide a venue for harmony where citizens can come together and enjoy the festivities. It will take place from October 17 to 18, 2026, in the area surrounding Chuncheon City Hall Plaza, featuring events that showcase Chuncheon’s traditional culture, such as the Yongsin Gut ritual and the Udubeol Daedong Cheonryeop Nori. The festival features street parades with citizens, performances by cultural schools, participatory stages for youth and children, invited performances, and performances by folk art troupes. It also includes hands-on programs where citizens can directly participate, such as “Random Dance,” folk games, rice cake pounding, and arts and crafts workshops. This cultural event features a diverse lineup of programs—combining performances and hands-on activities—designed to allow people of all generations to experience and share the region’s traditional culture together.
